On the 95th anniversary of August 30 Victory Day, Istanbul Governor Vasip Şahin hosted a reception at the Haliç Congress Center. The reception was attended by 1st Army Commander General Musa Avsever, Istanbul Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Kadir Topbaş, Istanbul protocol, the families of martyrs, and veterans. Şerafettin Yüzüak, on behalf of LASİAD, participated in the event. Following the cocktail reception, Governor Şahin, in his speech, said: “Today, we celebrate the 95th anniversary of the glorious history that began on May 19, 1919, with the epic of independence, culminating in the victory of the Battle of Chief Command on August 30, 1922. I greet each and every one of you with respect and love, proud to live as the sons and daughters of a free nation on the homeland that has been kneaded with the blood of our dear martyrs.
