33 billion lira support for animal husbandry in the last 17 years

Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Pakdemirli, in his written statement, stated that 50 percent grant support will be provided to existing livestock enterprises in the provinces within the scope of the Southeastern Anatolia Project (GAP), Eastern Anatolia Project (DAP), Eastern Black Sea Project (DOKAP) and Konya Plain Project (KOP) to develop their infrastructure. He reminded that the application was implemented in 2015.

Pointing out that they have made 311 million lira grant payments to 11 thousand 838 people in the last 5 years within the framework of the application, Pakdemirli emphasized that a total of 2 thousand 75 facilities have become operational in 41 provinces supported by the contribution of these payments.

Pakdemirli pointed out that they provided grant support for the construction and renovation of barns, pens, purchases of breeding bulls, rams and goats, and the purchase of manure scrapers and milking machines in 41 provinces within the scope of the project, and stated that last year, they made a grant payment of 45.2 million lira to 402 people in this context.

“We increased livestock support by approximately 60 times”

Emphasizing that the support they provide to livestock has increased throughout the country in the last 17 years to increase production and quality, Pakdemirli said, “We increased the total livestock support, which was 83 million lira in 2002, by approximately 60 times to approximately 5 billion lira in 2019. A total of 33 billion lira of livestock support was paid in the 2003-2019 period. .” made his assessment.
