Algerian Energy Minister Muhammed Arkab announced that a petrochemical factory will be established in Turkey in partnership with companies from Turkey and Algeria.

Minister Arkab, who made a statement to the AA correspondent at the Turkey-Algeria Business Forum, stated that a petrochemical factory will be established in Adana in partnership with the Algerian national energy company Sonatrach and Rönesans Holding from Turkey.

Noting that they expect the construction of the project to take approximately 2 years, Arkab said that the factory will start production in July 2022.

Arkab stated that Sonatrach will supply 450 tons of propane gas to this factory to be used as raw material in the production of polypropylene, which is frequently used in industry.

It was announced that 66 percent of the project, whose cost is expected to reach 1.4 billion dollars, will belong to Rönesans Holding and 34 percent will belong to Sonatrach.

Turkey-Algeria Business Forum, organized by the Foreign Economic Relations Board, aims to develop economic relations between Turkey and Algeria.
