On February 28, 2013, Ahmet Hamdi Görk, the District Chairman of the AK Party, visited LASİAD.
The visit was attended by AK Party District Chairman Ahmet Hamdi Görk, along with vice presidents Temel Sirkeci and Büşra Uncu Halktaş, and General Manager Kemal Aktaş. LASİAD representatives included President Giyasettin Eyyüpkoca, Vice President Muhammed Sancaktar, Vice President Vedat Toy, Board Members Abdurrahman Demircan, Benan Çalabakul, Erdem Soylu Karabağlı, Ercan Elveren, Ercan Çelik, G. Naci Polat, İrfan Akbaş, İ. Murat Ramizoğlu, Murat Eraslan, Murat Özpehlivan, Mehmet Ocaklı, Mehmet Özbayrak, along with LASİAD General Secretary Şerafettin Yüzüak, LASİAD Board Assistant Nada İsmail, and LASİAD Project Responsible Fatih Akkoç.
During the visit, AK Party District Chairman Ahmet Hamdi Görk praised LASİAD’s significant activities, stating, “It is wonderful to see your synergy and energy being used in collaboration with local government for Laleli. In addition to your work for Laleli, you have taken important steps in social assistance. I believe Laleli will become a textile center, and I anticipate that you will have different projects both in the sectoral and district context. I wish you continued success.”
“Laleli is Turkey’s outward face”
LASİAD President Giyasettin Eyyüpkoca spoke about their sensitivity to Laleli and the projects carried out by the association. “Laleli is a region with exports to 55 countries. Laleli is Turkey’s outward face. We have always presented our problems and solutions to the relevant authorities as an association, and we continue to do so. As an association, we have never been a recipient, always a giver.” Eyyüpkoca also highlighted LASİAD’s social assistance projects, including support for the Van Earthquake region, Somalia, and Katip Kasım Primary School. Providing information about the Laleli Fashion Shopping Festival and briefly addressing the refugee issue on Hayriye Street and Türkeli Avenue, Eyyüpkoca expressed their need for support on these matters.
At the end of the visit, LASİAD President Giyasettin Eyyüpkoca presented a LASİAD-logoed plate to AK Party District Chairman Ahmet Hamdi Görk.
