Azerbaijani MP: The West, which was not on our side in the past, is not on Turkey’s side today

Azerbaijan MP Ganire Pashayeva stated that the Dutch Parliament, which accepted the so-called Armenian genocide, did not make a statement on the Khojaly genocide and said, “The West, which was not on our side in the past, is not on Turkey’s side today.”

Azerbaijan MP Ganire Pashayeva stated that the Dutch Parliament, which accepted the so-called Armenian genocide, did not make a statement on the Khojaly genocide and said, “The West, which was not on our side in the past, is not on Turkey’s side today.”

Azerbaijani MP Ganire Pashayeva made statements on the 26th anniversary of the mass murder of Azerbaijani civilians by Armenian forces in the town of Khojaly in the Nagorno-Karabakh region of the Republic of Azerbaijan on February 26, 1992 during the Karabakh War. Pashayeva said, “26 years have passed since the Khojaly Genocide. There was snow and cold that day. Armenian military forces committed this genocide against our civilian people without mercy, without calling them children, women and the elderly. They massacred most of the people, very few people survived. They survived with frostbitten feet and hands, severe illnesses and traumas. The occupying Armenian soldiers erased a city called Khojaly from the face of the earth. Many were taken hostage, some are missing. They have not been able to return to their homes for 26 years. The only crime of the people there was being Turkish Muslims. The genocide committed against those people was committed against all humanity. Everyone should stand by Khojaly regardless of religion, language and race. Our wish is that those who committed this genocide should be held accountable before justice. Those who did this are currently serving at the highest level in the occupying Armenia and they have not responded to justice. We carry out these activities all over the world. We call on all humanity to stand by justice for Khojaly.”

“THE NETHERLANDS, WHICH RECOGNIZED THE SO-CALLED ARMENIAN GENOCIDE, DID NOT MAKE A STATEMENT ON KHOJALY”

Ganire Pashayeva said, “We face double standards in the West on this issue. As sons of Turks, we will not accept this decision of the Netherlands, which recognizes the so-called Armenian genocide. This is a lie and slander. The Dutch Parliament, which accepted these decisions, did not make any statement about the Khojaly massacre. Why those who accept events that did not happen a century ago do not want to see the Khojaly genocide, which is in front of the eyes of the modern world. The French President met with the Armenian Diaspora and said that they will include the so-called Armenian genocide in the commemoration days. We condemn this. It is very wrong for France to take these steps. In addition, France is one of the 3 countries that will play a role in the resolution of the Karabakh conflict. All these show double standards.”

“THE WEST, WHICH SAYS – LET’S FIGHT TERROR TOGETHER – IS NOT ON TURKEY’S SIDE”

Paşayeva also made statements about the Afrin operation and said, “Europe says ‘terrorism is a crime against humanity’. Terrorism must be fought. We also say it is right. Terror is terror everywhere and we condemn it. We cannot see the same stance and attitude. What Turkey is doing in Afrin today is the fight against terrorism. All branches of the PKK are terrorist organizations. This organization has taken thousands of lives. With Operation Olive Branch, we see that western countries are not on Turkey’s side. On the contrary, we see that they support terrorist organizations working against Turkey. When terror comes to them, they say let’s fight together. When it comes to us, they call it a crime against humanity because they stand behind terrorist organizations. That is why we, as Azerbaijan, stand by our brother Turkey. Everyone should also stand by Turkey. We are ready to give our lives for the fight against terrorism. Their aim is to weaken Turkey’s power. If Turkey’s power weakens, everyone’s power weakens. Turkey’s strength is our strength. It is the day to be united and together,” he said.
