Krmelin commented on the meeting between Erdogan and Putin on Saturday ahead of the G-20 summit in China.
Putin’s press secretary Peskov said the two leaders “talked a lot and for a long time.”
“Our Turkish colleagues raised the issue of quickly lifting the ban on agricultural products. Work in this area will continue,” Peskov said.
“In general, there were very positive talks. Both sides confirmed their determination to speed up relations,” the Russian official said.
Briefing Russian journalists, Peskov stressed that the heads of state discussed the work chart on normalizing cooperation in all areas.
According to him, preparations were also accelerated for the meeting of the High Level Cooperation Council, which is scheduled to be held in Russia by the end of the year and will be chaired by the two leaders.
Peskov emphasized that the two leaders exchanged detailed views on issues ranging from the Syrian crisis to bilateral relations.
“They sat and talked for quite a long time. Both with the delegation, bilaterally and in the format involving foreign ministers. Then they exchanged views on Syria. There was a very trusting and detailed exchange of views,” Peskov said.
Peskov added that the strategic planning group and the social forum under the High-Level Cooperation Council will also hold meetings in the fall, and a program of cultural and scientific-technological cooperation until 2019 will be signed.
