At the opening, the BIST 100 index gained 1,219.20 points and 1.38 percent, reaching 89,278.67 points.
The banking index gained 1.67 percent and the holding index gained 1.27 percent. While all sector indices started the day with an increase, the biggest gainer was informatics with 3.17 percent.
BIST 100 index, which followed a calm course yesterday, completed the day at 88,059.46 points, 0.07 percent below the previous close.
While a fluctuating trend was observed in global markets with the news flow regarding the ongoing new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) epidemic, the positive trend in the US and European stock markets yesterday also had its effect on Borsa Istanbul at today’s opening.
Analysts stated that today the foreign trade balance in the country and the inflation data in the Eurozone will be followed abroad, and that, technically, if the BIST 100 index remains above 88,500, purchases may strengthen and the 92,000 level will come to the agenda.
