Borsa Istanbul started the day with an increase

The BIST 100 index in Istanbul Stock Exchange rose by 0.12 percent to 89,614.06 points at the opening.

At the opening, BIST 100 index gained 103.18 points and 0.12 percent, reaching 89,614.06 points.

While the banking index lost 0.02 percent of its value, the holding index increased by 0.27 percent. Among the sector indices, the one that gained the most was electricity with 0.94 percent, and the one that decreased the most was sports with 2.12 percent.

BIST 100 index, which fluctuated in the 88,000-90,000 band yesterday, completed the day at 89,510.88 points with a 0.48 percent gain compared to the previous closing.

Analysts stated that inflation in the country and non-agricultural employment, unemployment and average hourly earnings data in the US employment report will be followed today, and that the news flow on the new type of coronavirus outbreak and oil supply will also be decisive on the direction of the markets.

Stating that the importance of today’s employment report has increased after unemployment benefit applications reached 10 million in the last two weeks in the USA, analysts said that the course of oil prices, which are traded with a 4 percent decrease today after yesterday’s 20 percent increase, will also have an impact on the markets through the energy giant’s stocks and funds.

Analysts reported that technically, 88,000 points in the BIST 100 index are support and 92,000 points are resistance.

Economists participating in the survey conducted by AA Finance expect the Consumer Price Index (CPI), to be announced today, to increase by 0.53 percent monthly in March. According to the average of economists’ March inflation expectations (0.53 percent), annual inflation, which was 12.37 percent in the previous month, is calculated to drop to 11.81 percent.
