While the distribution of existing electric vehicles and charging units in Turkey is concentrated in the western region, especially in Istanbul, Ankara and Izmir, the number of electric vehicles and regional traffic density are effective in the distribution of charging stations. There are 3 thousand 496 electric vehicles in Istanbul. Istanbul is followed by Ankara with 555 electric vehicles, Izmir with 441 electric vehicles and Antalya with 213 electric vehicles. 201 electric vehicles are in use in Bursa, 58 in Kocaeli, 47 in Gaziantep, 46 in Konya and Adana, and 40 in Muğla.

In terms of electric vehicle charging units, Istanbul ranks first with 1,265 units. Istanbul hosts 36.6 percent of the total electric vehicle charging units in Turkey. Istanbul is followed by Ankara with 320 electric vehicle charging units, Izmir with 235 units, Antalya with 162 units and Muğla with 128 units. There are 123 electric vehicle charging units in Bursa, 78 in Eskişehir, 67 in Konya and 66 in Afyonkarahisar. There is at least one charging station in every province of Turkey.
