Weekly Money and Bank Statistics were published by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT).
Accordingly, total deposits in the banking sector (including interbank) increased by 1 billion 207 million 60 thousand liras in the week ending June 5, rising from 3 trillion 54 billion 39 million 903 thousand liras to 3 trillion 55 billion 246 million 963 thousand liras.
During this period, TL deposits in banks decreased by 0.29 percent to 1 trillion 433 billion 355 million 548 thousand liras, and foreign currency (FX) deposits increased by 0.29 percent to 1 trillion 505 billion 419 million 162 thousand liras.
Total FX deposits in banks increased by 1 billion 906 million dollars last week, reaching 231 billion 404 million dollars.
While the amount of FX deposits of domestic residents was 202 billion 4 million dollars, 121 billion 259 million dollars of this amount was made up of real persons resident in the country, and 80 billion 745 million dollars were deposits of legal entities resident in the country.
Installment commercial loans increased
In a one-week period, consumer loans in deposit banks increased by 0.63 percent, reaching 521 billion 581 million 343 thousand liras. Installment commercial loans increased by 0.86 percent and reached 510 billion 361 million 632 thousand liras. In the same period, credit card balance increased by 1.84 percent to 142 billion 898 million 609 thousand lira.
Of the consumer loans in deposit banks, 195 billion 265 million 895 thousand lira consisted of housing, 4 billion 857 million 627 thousand lira from vehicle loans and 321 billion 457 million 821 thousand lira from other loans.
The total credit volume of the banking sector, including the CBRT, increased by 14 billion 469 million 45 thousand liras in the week ending June 5, reaching 3 trillion 67 billion 96 million 888 thousand liras.
Total loan volume increased by 0.47 percent compared to the same period last year.
