Dollar is at 6.78 TL, stock market is in plus

Global markets are focused on whether the global risk appetite, which has increased significantly in the last two weeks with the optimism created by the reopening of economies, will continue. Domestically, the unemployment rate for March, which was the first month when the effects of the coronavirus epidemic began to be felt, decreased to 13.2 percent. After the unemployment data, dollar/TL values around 6.78. Dollar/TL exchange rate has been fluctuating in the 6.7-6.8 band for a while, after the decline that started from its historical peak of 7.2690 in early May and continued to below 6.7.

BIST 100 index at Borsa Istanbul rose by 0.33 percent to 109,599.77 points at the opening.

All eyes on the Fed’s interest rate decision

The increase in stocks reduced oil prices

Oil prices fell after data showed an increase in crude oil and fuel stocks in the United States. After the increase in US oil stocks, concerns about the decrease in demand for oil and excess supply appeared again.

While the nearest term barrel price of Brent crude oil decreased by 1.4 percent to 40.59 dollars, the US light crude oil decreased by 1.9 percent to 38.22 dollars. According to API data, US crude oil stocks increased by 8.4 million barrels in the week of June 5.
