According to the information received from the Energy Petroleum Gas Supply Stations Employers’ Association (EPGIS), the said discount, which came into effect today, was reflected as 21 kurus on average in diesel and 23 kurus in gasoline.
The remaining 2 kurus per liter discount in diesel was used to replace the SCT revenue from the Eşel Mobil system.
Accordingly, the price per liter of diesel sold at an average of 6.62 liras in Ankara became 6.41 liras. The liter price of diesel decreased from 6.56 to 6.35 liras in Istanbul and from 6.63 to 6.42 liras in Izmir.
The liter price of gasoline, which was sold at an average of 7.12 liras in Ankara, decreased to 6.89 liras. The price of gasoline dropped from 7.05 liras to 6.82 liras in Istanbul and from 7.14 liras to 6.91 liras in Izmir.
Calculation of fuel prices
Fuel prices are calculated by refineries based on the average of processed product prices in the Mediterranean market, including Turkey, and changes in the dollar exchange rate.
As a result of this calculation, the prices charged by distribution companies may vary slightly across companies and cities due to competition and freedom.
With the Eşel Mobil system applied in fuel prices, the increases in domestic pump prices as a result of the increase in oil prices, exchange rates and international product prices are tried to be balanced by adjusting the SCT without being reflected to the consumer as an increase.
