The Presidential Decree on the Extension of the Duration of Short-Time Working Allowance for Workplaces that applied for Short-Time Working Due to Periodic Situations within the Scope of Compelling Reason within the Scope of Periodic Situations Resulting from External Effects due to the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) was published in the Official Gazette.
Accordingly, the duration of the short-time working allowance for workplaces that have applied for short-time working until June 30, 2020 due to Covid-19 within the framework of the principles set out in the additional Article 2 and provisional Article 23 of the Unemployment Insurance Law No. 4447 has been extended by one month starting from July 1, 2020 for workplaces that have ended the short-time working practice before the publication date of this decision for the same workers who previously benefited from short-time working without the need for a new application and eligibility determination and provided that it does not exceed the same conditions, and starting from the end date of short-time working for workplaces that have ended the short-time working practice before the publication date of this decision.
Payments made on the grounds of compelling reason within the scope of periodic situations arising from external effects due to Covid-19 will not be deducted from the unemployment benefit period initially determined.
