Emir of Qatar Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani made a statement on his Twitter account after meeting with President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan in Doha, the capital of Qatar.
Drawing attention to the depth of relations between the people of Qatar and Turkey due to President Erdoğan’s visit, Al Thani said, “The common cultural heritage and geographical proximity between Arabs and Turkey establishes a constructive cooperation for the stability and development of the region and makes a complete contribution to the progress of humanity.” he said.
In the news of Erdogan’s visit by Qatar official news agency QNA, it was stated that the two leaders discussed the important developments in Palestine, Libya, Syria and Yemen and exchanged views on international issues of common importance for the two countries.
It was stated in the news that the leaders emphasized their determination to take the relations between the two countries to higher levels in every field, and that they discussed the issues of developing common interests, especially in the fields of economy, trade, investment, energy and defense.
Erdoğan, Minister of Treasury and Finance Berat Albayrak, Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar, Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun, Presidential Spokesperson İbrahim Kalın and MİT President Hakan Fidan also attended the visit to Qatar.
