According to the provisional foreign trade statistics created by the Turkish Statistical Institute and the Ministry of Commerce, Turkey’s total imports in April decreased by 25 percent compared to the same month of the previous year and reached 13 billion 553 million 334 thousand dollars.
1 billion 483 million 365 thousand dollars of this amount was made up of “mineral fuels, mineral oils and products obtained from their distillation, bituminous substances, mineral waxes”, which are summarized as energy imports.
In April last year, this figure was recorded as 3 billion 692 million 169 thousand dollars. Thus, the country’s energy import bill decreased by 59.8 percent in the said period.
On the other hand, in April, crude oil imports decreased by 1.1 percent to 2 million 352 thousand 277 tons compared to the same month of the previous year.
