Texbridge Fair opened on March 13, 2013, with the participation of Mehmet Büyükekşi, the President of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), İbrahim Burkay, the President of Uludağ Textile Exporters Association (UTİB), Ceyda Erem, the Chairman of the Board of CNR Holding, Cem Şenel, the CEO of CNR Holding, Ercan Hardal, the Vice President of LASİAD Board of Directors, Münir Dinler, a Member of LASİAD Board of Directors, Şerafettin Yüzüak, the General Secretary of LASİAD, LASİAD Project Coordinator Fatih Akkoç, and representatives of the sector.
Speaking at the opening of the fair, TİM President Mehmet Büyükekşi stated, “The textile sector, which attaches great importance to R&D, branding, innovation, design, and fairs, will achieve its target of $20 billion in exports set for 2023.”
UTİB President İbrahim Burkay also emphasized that Texbridge, held for the fourth time this year, is approaching its goal of becoming one of the world’s most important fairs with its rich content. He pointed out that the association carried out 50 projects within a year and took the lead in significant fairs to revitalize the sector.
Moreover, during the fair, a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) Agreement was signed between the Lithuanian Textile and Clothing Industry Association (LATIA) and Uludağ Textile Exporters Association (UTİB) to enhance mutual cooperation. The signing ceremony took place with the participation of TİM President Mehmet Büyükekşi, UTİB President İbrahim Burkay, and the President of the Lithuanian Textile and Clothing Industry Association, Linas Lasiauskas.
