“The Award Ceremony of İTKİB, the Stars of Export, took place on May 1, 2013, at Lütfi Kırdar Congress Hall.
The event was attended by the Minister of Economy of the Republic of Turkey, Zafer Çağlayan, the President of the Turkish Exporters Assembly (TİM), Mehmet Büyükekşi, the President of the Istanbul Apparel and Apparel Exporters’ Association (İHKİB), Hikmet Tanrıverdi, the President of the Istanbul Textile and Raw Materials Exporters’ Association (İTHİB), İsmail Gülle, the President of the Istanbul Leather and Leather Products Exporters’ Association (İDMİB), Lemi Tolunay, the Vice President of the Istanbul Carpet Exporters’ Association (İHİB), Cem Şengör, LASİAD Vice President Mehmet Yasubuğa, LASİAD Board Member Ahmet Turan, and approximately 2,000 exporters.
Speaking at the award ceremony, Economy Minister Zafer Çağlayan emphasized their unprecedented success in exports, stating that Turkey exports to only two countries in the world that many people haven’t even heard of, namely Micronesia and Nauru. Drawing attention to the fact that no exports are made to these two very small countries, Minister Çağlayan called on the heads of export associations, saying, “Let’s export to those two countries as well. Let’s not leave any market in the world without Turkish products.”
Platinum Award for Süper Tekstil
Hosted by Ece Vahapoğlu, the award ceremony honored successful companies in various categories with a total of 133 awards, and Minister Çağlayan, Büyükekşi, and the presidents of export associations presented the Platinum category awards. Among the recipients, LASİAD Vice President Mehmet Yasubuğa was honored with the platinum award, along with Süper Tekstil company.”
