Exporters’ special passports extended to 4 years

Trade Minister Pekcan reported that the period for exporters to benefit from the special stamped (green) passport was increased from 2 years to 4 years.

Trade Minister Ruhsar Pekcan, in a post on her Twitter account, stated that approximately 7 thousand more exporters have this right by reducing the average minimum export amount required to be made in the last three years from 1 million dollars to 500 thousand dollars in order to obtain the right to a special stamped passport.

Pekcan stated that with the Law No. 7196 on the Amendment of Certain Laws and Decree Law No. 375 published in today’s issue of the Official Gazette, the period of exporters to benefit from the special stamped passport was increased from 2 years to 4 years, “With the special stamped passport opportunity provided, we aim to facilitate the transactions of our exporters and pave the way for them, and to ensure that they are more active and more visible in every point of the world.”

Pekcan emphasized that they are taking firm steps towards the goals of increasing the share of world trade in goods in 2023 and making Turkey one of the best economies in the world by carrying export performance to higher levels in a sustainable way, and noted the following:

“As the Ministry of Trade, we mobilize all our means and do not spare any sacrifice for all kinds of initiatives that will serve the purposes of strengthening our place in our existing markets and entering new markets by removing the obstacles in front of our exporters.”
