Minister Varank, who inspected Boğaziçi University’s BÜDOTEK Technopark located in Dudullu Organized Industrial Zone, visited C/S Enbilgi, Netoloji, Ekol and Anker Kimya companies that produce in various fields such as software, logistics and chemical technologies.
Minister Varank, Boğaziçi University Rector Prof. Dr. He was accompanied by Mehmed Özkan and BÜDOTEK Teknopark General Manager Bülent Üner.
Chatting with company owners and employees, Varank received information about the activities of the companies.
Varank also examined the autonomous vehicle made by Adastec, a company working on autonomous public transportation vehicle software at BÜDOTEK Teknopark.
After the Technopark visit, Varank visited the factory of GAMAK company, which is located in Dudullu Organized Industrial Zone and has been producing electric motors for 60 years, and received information about the motor production stages.
- “DOMESTIC RATE IN ELECTRIC MOTORS IS BETWEEN 70-90 PERCENT”
Minister Varank, in his speech during his visit to GAMAK, pointed out that GAMAK Motor is one of the production facilities with a deep-rooted history producing electric motors in Turkey and said, “The localization rate of the electric motors here varies between 70-90 percent and this facility uses the latest technology and high efficiency.” “Electric motors can be produced. Electric motors are one of the basic components used throughout the industry. There are electric motors in machinery equipment and all other industrial products.” said.
Stating that GAMAK meets a significant part of the engine need in the country and exports abroad with the capabilities it has developed, Varank continued his words as follows:
“Thanks to the experience they gained, they started to make a new production here. They also produce the generators of wind power plants, which we call windmills, in this facility. They produce generators for global and registered brands. They can produce 4 megawatt generators locally and nationally. They also produce 5 megawatt generators of their own design. They rolled up their sleeves.
I was very pleased with this visit. There is a significant need in the world, especially for electric motors. Technology and industries are transforming. It made me really happy that such a facility produces domestically and nationally in our country. “I have seen this capability, and from now on, we will benefit from our electric motor capabilities here regarding industry, localization and the National Technology Move in Turkey.”
GAMAK Deputy Chairman of the Board of Directors, Mustafa Altındağ, stated that they were founded in 1960 and that they have been producing new and larger capacity engines every year since then and said, “We have also moved to the generator side. We plan to invest more from now on. Our 2020-2021 investment plans continue. Hopefully, we will continue to make higher capacity and more efficient engines.” he said.
