The “Hand in Hand for Aleppo” campaign, which started with the call of İsmail Gülle, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Istanbul Textile and Raw Materials Exporters’ Association (ITHIB) and grew with the participation of the sector stakeholders, has yielded results. 21 truckloads of aid materials including basic necessities such as blankets, carpets, quilts, pillows, clothing and food collected within the scope of the campaign were sent to Aleppo with a ceremony held at TIM Foreign Trade Complex on Monday, 26 December under the coordination of the Turkish Red Crescent. LASIAD’s 1 lorry of various clothing items will be delivered to the Syrians evacuated from Aleppo to Idlib in the campaign.
The ceremony held at the Foreign Trade Complex attracted the attention of the presidents of exporters’ unions and associations operating in the textile and ready-to-wear sector and many members of the press. Chairman of the Board of Directors Giyasettin Eyyüpkoca, Vice Chairman Ercan Hardal and Secretary General Şerafettin Yüzüak attended the ceremony on behalf of LASIAD. In addition to LASIAD, İTHİB, İHKİB, Istanbul Leather and Leather Products Exporters Association, Istanbul Carpet Exporters Association and sectoral associations supported the “Hand in Hand for Aleppo” campaign.
