The only factor that causes the struggle to fail is losing hope. No matter how difficult the difficulties are, we should never give up the struggle. Being cautious, cautious and diligent are the keys to success. We must never lose our faith as a country and nation during this difficult epidemic process we are going through. If we act within the framework of solidarity and common sense, there is no problem that we cannot solve. As you know, joys increase as they are shared; Troubles and troubles decrease as they are shared. In order to find solutions to the problems experienced, we have to develop our regional cooperation, especially as Laleli. We should focus on coming together whenever possible, both digitally and within the framework of certain rules, and minimizing the effects of the Covid-19 epidemic.
This is not the first time the world is faced with a problem that affects the global economy so much. When we look at the historical chronology, we can see that such global events repeat themselves over and over again. Our country and our people were affected by these events in one way or another, but they never gave up. Events such as the First World War between 1914 and 1918, the Spanish Flu between 1918 and 1920, the Economic Depression of 1929 and the Second World War between 1939 and 1945 caused irreparable pain and suffering for nations, countries and economies. Some of them resulted in the loss of hope for life beyond the economic effects many times, but somehow life continued. We should know this; The Covid-19 epidemic, which has ravaged the world, affects not only us but all the countries of the world at the highest level. While we grieve for the lives we lost, thankfully our country has managed to manage this process correctly and rationalistically from the very beginning. Hopefully, from now on, we will overcome the process together and successfully by complying with the measures taken in nation-state cooperation at the highest level. Turkey will emerge from this epidemic phase with success and reach the place it deserves in the axis of its global vision. It is in our hands to deal with this virus, which can never be neglected. We must make it our mission to at least protect ourselves, our loved ones and our environment by following hygiene, distance and mask rules. We must especially respect the outstanding efforts and efforts of our devoted healthcare workers and never compromise on this issue. Let’s not forget that the lost life does not come back, no matter who is lost, it leaves a blind fire behind. We are a sensitive society that knows how to act collectively when necessary. We must constantly maintain our sensitivity in order not to allow this relentless disease to spread further and cause harm. Of course, the issue is not solved only by us taking precautions. In terms of the difficulties we face economically, the normalization of our target markets is essential. We hope that with the normalization there, a rapid restoration will begin in the fields of trade, tourism and logistics. The basic condition here is that all flights start under the leadership of Turkish Airlines. Unfortunately, Europe’s ambivalent attitude towards a country like Turkey, which has managed the epidemic process with great care, sensitivity and success from the beginning, saddens us. Europe’s attempts to benefit from this issue and aim to gain benefits by prolonging the process are harming many sectors, especially our tourism sector. It is important to change this understanding, which will not benefit anyone, as soon as possible, especially in terms of justice, equality and transparency. The end of such meaningless labels in order for Turkey’s efforts and performance throughout the epidemic to be rewarded is a great test for Europe’s understanding of fairness before ours. We hope that this mistake will be quickly reversed and unnecessary restrictions on people’s freedom of travel will be removed. The main misconception here is that, especially after this process, countries and unions need solidarity instead of separation, tolerance instead of fighting, and cooperation instead of struggle more than ever.
On this occasion, I wholeheartedly congratulate you on Eid al-Adha and offer my respects with the hope that it will bring health, tranquility and peace to our country and the whole world.
