In her post on her Twitter account, Pekcan stated that they have implemented the “Specialized Free Zone” model to increase Turkey’s production and export of high value-added goods and services with intensive R&D and technology content.
Pekcan stated that with the Presidential Decree published in the Official Gazette today, they will offer many tax exemptions such as income, corporate and customs tax, as well as supports such as rent and qualified employment, to companies that will contribute to Turkey’s R&D-intensive, high technology and value-added export targets. he noted:
“We will also provide interest or profit share support to the operating companies that will establish these zones for a maximum of 10 years, provided that it does not exceed 50 percent of the fixed investment amount they committed during the investment phase. The incentives and supports to be provided in the specialized free zones will benefit our country’s young and qualified workforce, appropriate infrastructure and logistics. We aim to make a significant contribution to attracting international investors with its advantages. We determined the first sector targeted by our specialized free zones, which will be equipped with one-stop service provision opportunities where bureaucracy is reduced, as the IT sector, and we established the Istanbul Specialized Free Zone for this purpose. In our country, the service sectors are especially software and game development. “We aim to further accelerate the dynamism in the sector, with its size gaining significant momentum these days, with the specialized free zones model.”
