“The IHKIB Ready-to-Wear Technology Skills Competition took place on Thursday, March 15th, at the Foreign Trade Complex. The students who achieved success in the Ready-to-Wear Technology Skills Competition, organized for the first time this year by the Istanbul Ready-Made Clothing and Apparel Exporters’ Association (IHKIB), received their awards.
In order to improve the quality of vocational and technical education and elevate perception, a competition in the field of garment production technology was organized among IHKIB-affiliated schools: IHKIB Kağıthane Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, IHKIB Avcılar Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School, and Bayrampaşa Vocational and Technical Anatolian High School. As part of this competition, students sewed shirts and skirts for three days.
During the ceremony, IHKIB President Hikmet Tanrıverdi stated, ‘We consider every young person graduating from our vocational high schools as a value we contribute to the sector. Through schools, IHKIB has been sowing education, knowledge, and modernity for 27 years, and reaping income, prosperity, and social peace. We take pride in our schools and students. If the ready-to-wear and apparel sector brings in a net $14 billion in foreign exchange to our country every year, we know that our graduates have a share in this.'”
LASİAD President Giyasettin Eyyüpkoca attended the award ceremony on behalf of LASİAD.
