In the Name of Peace and Humanity

“The worst peace is better than the most just war,” says the Roman thinker Marcus Tullius Cicero.

Even though he lived between 106 BC and 43 BC, I think the words he said still maintain their vitality and validity today in all their forms. Even though time passes, the pain of war, destruction and death does not subside and will not subside. Regardless of language, religion or race, every human being deserves to live humanely in its purest form. Political disagreements, global concerns and concerns about the future cause great harm to humanity and the civilization we have established today, as in history. Humanity prefers war and death when it is possible to sit down and agree, meet at the minimum common ground and establish a common future. We embrace blood, tears and despair when we could live a life in unity and arm in arm. As Turkey, when we see the deep suffering in our south, east and now our northern neighbors, we remember again the importance of our country being a basin of peace and tranquility in this turmoil. Our beautiful country, which throughout history has been the home of those who were displaced from their homes, the home of those whose homes were destroyed, and the homeland of those who were displaced, today hosts many people from our northern geography. We open our doors to them and try to be with them in these difficult days. Many people came to our country, especially from Ukraine and Russia, with whom we developed intense commercial relations after the collapse of the Soviet Union. We do not lose our faith in peace and we sincerely hope that this war will end immediately. I would like to express that I feel great pride on behalf of our region, especially as Laleli, for opening the doors of our hotels to people who have suffered victimization. It was very important for us to successfully manage this fast and action-packed process in the LASİAD organization. I hope these people return home safely and their suffering ends as soon as possible.

With the arrival of Ramadan, we held our traditional program as LASİAD in Mardin this year. I would like to wholeheartedly thank all our friends, especially our board of directors, aid volunteers and Mardin Governorship, who helped us build this beautiful bridge of brotherhood and participated in this unity of heart. It was very valuable for us to crown this holy month, which once again reminds us of the importance of togetherness, solidarity and understanding, with such a valuable organization.

As you know, Laleli has always been a pioneer and always different. This philosophy, in which we have internalized being original, is an undeniable fact that has settled into the genes of our region. This is why Laleli has become a unique world brand known locally and globally. This is the power that makes us who we are and drives our buyers and guests from many countries of the world to this precious region. The indescribable gravitational force of Laleli; It comes from the energy of people who can present history, trade, logistics and hospitality in wonderful harmony. In this respect, it is worth noting that our region and its valuable individuals have a great duty. The responsibility we bear requires effort beyond our dreams. I would like to emphasize again the importance of acting in greater unity and solidarity, especially in these difficult days. Based on the understanding that every darkness will lead to light, I have no doubt that these days will evolve into very, very bright days for both Laleli and our country.

On this occasion, I congratulate you on your Ramadan Feast in advance and wish you a healthy, happy and peaceful holiday with your family and loved ones.
