Istanbul Airport ‘IGA Domestic Lines Lounge’ started to serve passengers

The opening of the passenger lounge, which is approximately 360 square meters and has a seating capacity of 40 people, was attended by Ersin İnankul, Deputy General Manager in charge of Digital Services and Trade at İGA Airport Operation, Gökhan Şengül, Corporate Communications Director, and some invited guests.

In his speech at the opening ceremony, İnankul said that they have made passenger satisfaction the focal point of their operational processes at Istanbul Airport since day one.

Explaining that they have made investments by prioritizing passenger comfort with the aim of ensuring that all guests leave Istanbul Airport with a high level of satisfaction from the moment they set foot at the airport, İnankul said:

“In this context, we have provided free Buggy service for access to the Domestic Lines Lounge area. We have designed a rich food and beverage menu in accordance with the pandemic conditions. We have designed many products and services for our guests to be comfortable before their travels with seating and lounging areas suitable for social distancing, work section, TV broadcast and FIDS screens. The Domestic Lines Lounge area, which we designed as the first phase, will have an area of 360 square meters and a seating capacity of 40 people due to the Covid-19 outbreak. The ‘IGA Hygiene Team’ will provide continuous service in the lounge area where fever measurements will be made at the entrances, and there will also be social distancing warnings throughout the area.”

Inankul stated that they plan to increase the capacity of the area in the future and that “İGA PASS” and “Priority Pass” members will be able to benefit from the hall free of charge, and that guests over the age of 65 will only pay 65 percent of the normal fee for entry.

The menu includes traditional dishes from bagels to meatballs

The Domestic Lounge offers a free buggy shuttle, a rich food and beverage menu, beverage options and seating areas suitable for social distancing. Turkish delicacies such as simit and rich breakfast varieties will be served in the morning, while meatballs and bulgur pilaf, an indispensable taste of Turkish cuisine, will be served at lunch and dinner. Passengers will be able to taste a rich menu reflecting the culture, from hot soup to Turkish desserts, from kısır to stuffed with olive oil.

Passengers will be offered a lounging and bar area, ‘business corner’, TV channels, ‘FIDS’ screens and massage facilities free of charge, while “İGA PASS” and “Priority Pass” members will be able to benefit from all these facilities instantly.

While precautions are taken at the highest level due to the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19), fever measurements are taken at the entrance of the ‘Lounge’. Contactless option is available at payment points.

The personnel on duty will serve with protective equipment. Soup and hot food will be served by the staff in heated containers to prevent contamination through contact, and all meals will be served to passengers in closed containers. Disposable packaged cutlery will be used in food services, and all surfaces will be disinfected by the “IGA Hygiene Team” after each passenger.
