The General Directorate of Meteorology renewed its warnings for Istanbul. The snowfall, which was effective in high areas yesterday, left it to partly cloudy weather today. Snowfall is expected to take effect across the city on Thursday.
According to the last minute assessment made by the General Directorate of Meteorology; It is estimated that the northern, central and eastern parts of our country will be partly and very cloudy, and the Western and Eastern Black Sea, Central Black Sea coasts, Kocaeli, Sakarya and Tokat surroundings will be rainy.
The precipitation is expected to be in the form of rain and showers in coastal areas, mixed rain and snow in the inland parts of the Western and Eastern Black Sea and around Tokat. Tonight and tomorrow morning, fog, haze, icing and frost are expected in the interior and eastern parts.

DEGREES BELOW 0 IN ISTANBUL AT NIGHT HOURS
Temperatures in Istanbul dropped below 0 at night. While there was a risk of icing on the roads, the windows of the cars were also frozen. Citizens who wanted to get into their cars to go to work in the morning hours encountered frozen car windows. Citizens struggled to thaw the ice on the windows.
AIR TEMPERATURE: It is estimated that it will increase by 2 to 4 degrees in the western parts, there will be no significant change elsewhere and it will continue to hover around seasonal norms.
WIND: It is expected to blow generally from north and northeast, tomorrow from west and southwest directions in Marmara and the western Black Sea, with light, occasionally moderate winds, strong and stormy (50-80 km/h) in the inner parts of the Mediterranean and around Malatya and Adıyaman.

SNOW PLOWS ON THE ROAD IN ISTANBUL
After the latest warnings, snowfall was again effective, especially in high areas, and snow plows were on the roads throughout Istanbul to prevent any negativity on the roads.
Meteorology warned that “it may snow” in many cities, especially Istanbul. Yesterday, snowfall was effective in the Silivri region during the day. In the evening, there was snowfall in the high parts of the Anatolian side of Istanbul. In the morning, municipal snow plows took to the roads in and around Beylikdüzü E-5 highway.
In the afternoon, snowfall was again effective on the Anatolian side of Istanbul. It was seen that snow plows with solution and salting features were kept ready on the roadsides to prevent road closures during a possible heavy snowfall.
