Our country held perhaps one of the most important elections in its history on June 24. The 87% participation rate of our people in the elections, which were held with great democratic maturity, is an important development that will go down in the history of democracy in Turkey and the world. While it is difficult to achieve even fifty percent participation in the elections held in Western countries, our nation showed its belief in democracy by going to the polls. I believe that this rate is an important indicator to see and show the level of democracy that our country has reached.
Again, through the election held on June 24, our country transitioned to a brand new system. We have transitioned to a unique form of government in which bureaucracy will decrease, a more practical management will come to life and the principle of separation of powers will be applied more rationally. Now, an active process awaits us, where decisions will be made faster and the decisions will be implemented immediately. In this new process, in which non-governmental organizations will play a more effective and decisive role, we will experience a very productive period in finding effective solutions to our problems. Our country’s economy, which has been exhausted especially by years of elections, is getting rid of its burdens in order to shape its future. A predictable system that can show instant reactions to rapidly changing and transforming developments awaits us. Stability, which is indispensable for us businessmen, becomes permanent in our country with this new system. This stable structure, which will attract local industrialists and business people as well as foreign investors to our country, will literally shift the country’s economy into gear.
Common sense and consensus culture are undoubtedly important concepts for democracies. It is worth noting that as we transition to the presidential system, the parliamentary structure in our country is also strengthened. In this new system, while the parliament reaches the value it deserves, legislative and executive titles are essentially separated from each other. This will strengthen our country in administrative terms and create a more participatory structure in terms of democracy. Perhaps for the first time since the Tanzimat period, we have met such a stability-based, democracy-oriented and practically functioning administration. It is possible to say that the future is bright for our country with its young and dynamic population, economic infrastructure ready to leap forward, and military, political and cultural influence.
Now is the time to leave behind the tensions, squabbles and debates during the election process and move towards the future. We are a huge country with all our individuals and values, we are Turkey together. Each of our people is valuable, each of our citizens is as valuable as possible. We will walk into the future arm in arm, shoulder to shoulder, and write the epic of our thousand-year-old law of brotherhood together. Our country is facing an opportunity perhaps unprecedented in its history. The conditions for the success story we will reveal in this period are brotherhood, solidarity and hard work.
As industrialists, we are willing to work, invest, employ and sweat more than ever. As long as our country does not waste its energy, time and power on unnecessary agendas. There are countless problems we need to focus on and solve. As a nation, we have the strength, faith and will to overcome these difficult problems. As long as our heart beats and our heart beats, there is and cannot be a barrier that will stand in our way. This country and this nation have received the prayers of the oppressed throughout their history and have always stood by them. We know that we still have a lot of work to do for equality and justice in the world. That’s why we have to work harder and get tired than ever. We must strive with all our strength to ensure that our country reaches the place and value it deserves in the changing world. Let’s be ready; Our country’s growth story begins again.
Throughout our history, there have been many traitors who wanted to destroy our brotherhood, unity and solidarity, and many scoundrels who sold their souls to the devil. Especially during the July 15 period, our country and nation survived a great crisis against these traitors, and in the morning of that night, they wrote a legend that will go down in history. The name of this legend that the West ignores is, of course, the July 15 Epic. May God not let our country experience such pain again. On this occasion, I commemorate all our martyrs with mercy, offer patience and condolences to their families, and wish recovery to our veterans.
I offer my respects and hope that the new era will bring good things to our country and nation.
