Small and Medium Enterprises Development and Support Administration (KOSGEB) President Cevahir Uzkurt, in his statement to the AA correspondent, stated that they continue their work with the mission of increasing their share in economic and social development by ensuring that SMEs and entrepreneurs achieve an innovative, technological and competitive structure with effective support and services.
Uzkurt stated that they provide the necessary support to all SMEs, including SMEs that produce an innovative, technological and high added value product, want to carry this product to international markets and are export-oriented, and continued as follows:
“In 2019, we provided 2.3 billion liras of support to approximately 70 thousand SMEs. We see that a significant part of this support went to our companies that domestically produce products imported from abroad and companies that engage in technological production. We have transferred approximately 60 percent of support to such projects. Of this, “Immediately afterwards, we gave a significant part of the support to our entrepreneurs who want to establish new businesses. In the next period, we want to focus more on medium-level and high-technology areas in order to contribute to the evolution of our companies into high-tech areas, especially with our companies that produce imported products domestically, among our priorities.”
Uzkurt noted that they want to provide more support to entrepreneurs who will establish new businesses.
Reminding that they will provide interest-free loans with an upper limit of 100 thousand liras within the scope of the KOSGEB Emergency Support Loan Program, which was initiated by the instruction of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan for SMEs affected by the earthquake in Elazığ and Malatya, Uzkurt stated that all SMEs affected by the earthquake can apply to the program.
