The Istanbul Apparel Exporters’ Association (IHKIB) held a press conference for the Vision Document of the Ready-to-Wear and Clothing Sector on Tuesday, October 24th, at the Beşiktaş Four Seasons Hotel, with the strong participation of the press.
“We Will Elevate Turkey to Third Place in Ready-to-Wear Exports Worldwide with 6 Strategic Moves”
Announcing the Vision Document of the Ready-to-Wear and Clothing Sector, prepared with the analytical support of McKinsey, IHKIB President Hikmet Tanrıverdi stated that the purchases made by European brands from neighboring countries are expected to reach 30 billion dollars in five years. Tanrıverdi mentioned that by utilizing Turkey’s “proximity” advantage, the country could increase its exports to EU countries alone to 22-23 billion dollars. He emphasized that with the implementation of 6 strategic moves, it would be possible to achieve an export target of 60 billion dollars.
At the meeting, LASIAD was represented by the President of the Board, Giyasettin Eyyüpkoca, and Vice Presidents of the Board, Ercan Hardal, Murat Özpehlivan, and Barış Köseliören.
