“Every year, we share the summary of our activities in our ‘Activity Report,’ the latest edition of which, covering the term of our newly elected administration that took office last June, has been reissued as of the end of this month. As you all know, individuals are transient, and they are remembered for what they have done and left behind. In this sense, the importance of these types of reports for us is truly significant as they offer an opportunity to take stock of the past. Looking at what has been done in the last year, we see that we have extended a helping hand and provided support wherever needed, both in our country and globally, especially in education. In addition, relationships established with authorities in almost every field we need have undoubtedly reflected positively on us. For example, as a result of our discussions with Turkish Airlines (THY), a flight program to Novosibirsk, which was demanded by our region, was initiated. The efforts we have made in collaboration with law enforcement agencies have minimized public order issues in our region. The famine in Somalia has not been ignored, and within the framework of the campaign we conducted, a donation check of 300,000 TL was immediately handed over to Red Crescent officials. Also, as LASIAD, the container city we established in Van has somewhat alleviated the pain of the people shaken by the earthquake, and the items we sent to those in need in Bingöl have been promptly delivered to the necessary places. The needs of Kâtip Kasım Elementary School, whose sponsorship we have undertaken, have been, as always, covered by our association and continue to be covered. Furthermore, one of our most important projects, the renovation of our streets, which we are implementing in collaboration with Fatih Municipality, has been initiated. Our administration continues to work with all its might in unity to ensure that Laleli, which is progressing towards becoming a global fashion center, takes on the image it deserves. It is our greatest desire that this collaboration and mutual sacrifice contribute not only to Laleli but also to our growing country and our future. At this point, we owe our deepest respect and heartfelt thanks to all these institutions and representatives. Expressing our gratitude to each and every one of them, we consider it essential to reflect these activities, which rectify the perceived vision and mission in today’s world, in written and visual media, to bring our region one step closer to where it deserves. We are confident that by making the Laleli Fashion Shopping Festival, organized for the first time this year to celebrate our 15th anniversary, a traditional event, we will begin to reap the fruits of all these image-building efforts. On this occasion, I would like to express my heartfelt thanks and respect to everyone who has contributed to LASIAD’s establishment, past and present boards of directors, our members, our employees, and our friends who have never withheld their support from us.
We are here for Laleli, together for Laleli.
Giyasettin Eyyüpkoca.”
