“With the support of the Ministry of Economy, 44 brands and designers’ 2015-2016 Fall/Winter Collections have been showcased at The Core Istanbul, organized by IHKIB, Fashion Designers Association (MTD), and Istanbul Fashion Academy (IMA). LASİAD President Giyasettin Eyyüpkoca and Vice President Ercan Hardal attended the event held at Antrepo 7 on March 17.
Giyasettin Eyyüpkoca toured the stands of Hikmet Tanrıverdi and designers, examining the collections, and later visited the stands of various brands to chat with fashion enthusiasts.
Following the opening, a press conference was held with the participation of Hikmet Tanrıverdi, President of IHKIB; Sami Kariyo, President of BMD; Mehtap Elaidi, President of MTD; Volkan Atik, Vice President of IHKIB; Giyasettin Eyyüpkoca, President of LASİAD; and other association presidents. Hikmet Tanrıverdi began the press conference with a speech, stating, ‘Within the scope of the Design Communiqué, state support of up to 1.4 million dollars will be provided for 3 years. This support will be a significant step towards Istanbul becoming the center of design and fashion.’ The Core Istanbul will continue until March 20, concurrently with Mercedes Benz Fashion Week Istanbul.”
