“On October 1-2, within the framework of the 19th anniversary celebrations of Merter Industrialists and Businessmen Association (MESİAD), the ‘MERTER 2013 Fashion and Textile Design Competition’ took place with the participation of 46 young designers from 12 universities.
LASİAD Board Chairman Giyasettin Eyyüpkoca, LASİAD Board Vice Chairman Muhammed Sancaktar, LASİAD Board Vice Presidents Ercan HARDAL, Ercan Çelik, Erdem Soylu Karabağlı, Tuncay Selim Poşul, LASİAD Board Members Münir Dinler and Bayram Karataş, as well as LASİAD General Secretary Şerafettin Yüzüak attended the event.
Before the fashion show, LASİAD Board Chairman Giyasettin Eyyüpkoca and the LASİAD Board met with Güngören District Governor Zafer Orhan, Mayor Şakir Yücel Karaman, Police Chief Erkan Çamırcı, MESİAD President Halit Tuna, and MESİAD Board Members Hüseyin Kazıkkaya, İhsan Demir, Tevfik Bozkurt, Gürbüz Oruç, Faruk Güvenç for an exchange of views on the development of associations and the industry.
The collections of the top 15 designers who were awarded in the MESİAD 2013 Fashion and Textile design competition were showcased within the framework of the ‘Merter 2013 Fashion’ event. Selvi Street, one of the most magnificent streets in Merter, was closed for the event and transformed into a runway to display the designs of young fashion designers. The runway show, hosted by Sema Şimşek, featured a cast of 30 people, including well-known models like Didem Soydan, Elif Ece Uzun, and Fatoş Kabasakal.”
