“LASİAD President Shared His/Her Experiences with Students”

LASİAD President Giyasettin Eyyüpkoca was a guest speaker at Istanbul Commerce University’s Vocational Seminar Course. Having spent 25 years in the textile industry, Eyyüpkoca shared his professional journey, experiences, and success tips with the students, also providing insights into LASİAD.

Introducing himself, Eyyüpkoca first provided information about Laleli to the students. Describing Laleli as the “world’s largest open-air shopping center,” he emphasized that sales were made to 55 countries worldwide, with Russia being one of the largest consumer countries globally, despite recent tensions in the region. Addressing the current tensions in Russia, Eyyüpkoca pointed out that there is a global economic and political cold war, with changes in wealth occurring worldwide.

Highlighting the importance of thorough research before starting a business for those looking to establish a company or engage in trade, Eyyüpkoca stated, “You need to know very well who your counterpart is and what they like. You should be well aware of the characteristics of their countries and markets. As long as the world exists, so will the textile industry. However, in the future, those who produce high-value-added products will stand out.” Stressing the significance of utilizing own resources in achieving success, Eyyüpkoca advised students to manage “people, money, and time” effectively.
