At the opening, the BIST 100 index gained 278.48 points and 0.28 percent, rising to 98,449.46 points.
While the banking index gained 0.17 percent, the holding index lost 0.04 percent. Among the sector indices, the one that gained the most was informatics with 1.83 percent, and the one that decreased the most was the main metal industry with 0.21 percent.
At Borsa Istanbul, which was closed yesterday due to April 23 National Sovereignty and Children’s Day, the BIST 100 index gained 0.57 percent on Wednesday and finished the day at 98,170.98 points.
Analysts stated that the course of oil prices and the news flow regarding the new type of coronavirus outbreak remain at the center of the agenda, noting that the capacity utilization rate, real sector confidence index and weekly money and bank statistics to be published by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT) will be published domestically and abroad. Ifo business confidence indices in Germany reported that durable goods orders in the USA would be followed.
Analysts stated that technically, the 97,000 and 96,400 levels in the BIST 100 index are important support positions in the short term, and that 99,000 points stand out as resistance.
