Turkey’s LPG imports decreased by 16.3 percent in March compared to the same month last year, reaching 207 thousand 826 tons.
According to the “Liquefied Petroleum Gases Market Sector Report” of the Energy Market Regulatory Authority for March, the countries from which the most LPG was imported by refinery and distributor license holders were the USA, Algeria, Kazakhstan, Norway, Russia, Nigeria, Greece and Santa Kitts and Nevis, respectively.
Turkey’s LPG imports decreased by 16.3 percent to 207 thousand 826 tons in March compared to the same month of the previous year.
During this period, LPG exports by refinery and distributor license holders increased by 67 percent to 18 thousand 5 tons. Exports were made to Switzerland, Egypt, Lebanon, Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus, Bulgaria, Romania and Turkey Free Zone.
LPG production increased
LPG production increased by 14.6 percent in March, reaching 95 thousand 58 tons.
Distributor license holders sold 223 thousand 895 tons of autogas, 50 thousand 912 tons of cylinder LPG and 7 thousand 299 tons of bulk LPG. Thus, total LPG sales in March reached 282 thousand 107 tons.
On an annual basis, autogas sales decreased by 12.2 percent, cylinder LPG sales decreased by 10.8 percent, and bulk LPG sales decreased by 1.4 percent. There was an 11.7 percent decrease in LPG sales in the domestic market.
In the month in question, autogas ranked first with a market share of 79.4 percent, followed by cylinder LPG with 18 percent and bulk LPG with 2.6 percent.
