Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu said about the national electric train, “It will be put on the rails at the end of this year and, God willing, we will start passenger transportation in a short time.”
Karaismailoğlu said, “We are determined to continue our breakthrough in railway technology with the production of our domestic and national vehicles. Our aim is for Turkey to become an important center in the production of rail system vehicles.”
Karaismailoğlu continued his speech as follows:
“Our domestic and national train sets were produced with an operating speed of 160 kilometers per hour and a design speed of 176 kilometers per hour. It has features that will meet the demands and expectations at the highest level in terms of passenger satisfaction and comfort, with the safety of travel at the forefront. The total seat capacity of a set consisting of 5 vehicles is 324 and two of them are reserved for disabled passengers.”
Minister of Transport and Infrastructure Adil Karaismailoğlu said, “The prototype set, the production of which has been completed, has a 60 percent localization rate. For mass production, 80 percent localization rate is targeted. The cost of the prototype set was 20 percent cheaper than similar products supplied from abroad.”
Minister Karaismailoğlu said, “Our country is now in a position to produce its own high-speed trains and high-speed trains. In the following process, Turkey does not need to procure vehicles from abroad.”
