Health Minister Koca: We may be living the last critical months

Minister of Health Koca made statements after the Scientific Committee meeting.

Here are the highlights of Minister Koca’s statements:

Today, we and the world are in a more difficult period than at the beginning against the attack of the virus.

The number of seriously ill patients is over 1300. The pandemic has been neglected in the world.

Since the beginning of the outbreak, every patient with a positive diagnosis has received and continues to receive the necessary healthcare services in an orderly manner.

“Transmission has accelerated in the last two months”

The number of our filiation teams, the trackers of the virus, has increased from 6 thousand to 11 thousand 238.

Transmission has accelerated in the last two months. The burden of our health workers has increased 4-5 times.

An average of 100 thousand tests are performed every day. The increasing number of new patients and seriously ill patients has not prevented anyone from receiving treatment so far.

There should not be a cell phone without the HES application. (HES code) To date, approximately 140 thousand people who attempted to go out even though they should have been in isolation have been prevented by this system.

Many people are exposing themselves to the virus every day by not taking precautions, especially in the last two months.

“We may be living the last critical months”

Another measure against irresponsible people who pose a risk to society will be smart bracelet applications.

We may be living the last critical months of a pandemic that seems to be coming to an end. Scientific developments show that the end of the pandemic is near. The human mind will soon be able to declare its victory over the coronavirus

With the permission of the Ministry of Health, the first application of the Chinese Sinovac vaccine in Turkey has started in 3 volunteer healthcare workers at Hacettepe University. As Turkey, while continuing our own vaccine study, we have also started our procurement initiatives for the earliest application.

“Intensive care occupancy rate 66.3 percent”

Our bed occupancy rate is 51.6 percent, intensive care bed occupancy rate is 66.3 percent and ventilator occupancy rate is 33.6 percent.

I would like to say that Istanbul’s upward trend has decreased in the last week, but the coming weeks are extremely important.

(Intensive care bed occupancy rate) Izmir is 72.5 percent, Ankara 63.23 percent and Istanbul 59.61 percent.

(Provinces with high intensive care bed occupancy rates) Bartın 77.32 percent, Batman 76.4 percent, Sakarya 76.33 percent, Ordu 75.98 percent, Samsun 75.74 percent

Vaccine studies

(Vaccine from China) Mainly health workers participated voluntarily. It will be administered to 1200 people at the beginning, and then to 10 thousand people.

I believe that its application will start in many countries around the world by the end of the year, and we will be able to start it by the end of the year.

(Vaccine developed in Russia) Phase-3 may be authorized next week when the deficiencies are completed. We are in close cooperation with more than one country regarding the vaccine.

We are endeavoring to bring the vaccine we have confidence in at an early stage.

Pfizer was allowed to work. It starts in more than 10 centers in Istanbul, including Çapa and Cerrahpaşa.

Not for this year, but for next year, I believe that we will come a long way in producing our local vaccine.

Flexible working explanation

The Scientific Committee recommends that not only the public sector but also the private sector should be involved in this practice.

(Opening of schools) Provincial Hygiene Boards may decide not to start schools in provinces where the outbreak is very intense, but this is not the case at the moment. A practice of ‘2+5 days’ will be implemented for preparatory and first grades.

The virus has not mutated. It happened in the laboratory environment, but there is no mutation that would seriously reduce its effect on the human body.

63 deaths and 1,771 cases in the last 24 hours

In the last 24 hours in Turkey, 63 people have lost their lives due to COVID-19.

Turkey Daily Coronavirus Table was shared on “covid19.saglik.gov.tr”. According to current data, 112,645 tests were performed today, and COVID-19 was detected in 1771 people.

In the last 24 hours, 63 patients died and 1342 people recovered. The number of people whose COVID-19 treatment was completed increased to 262 thousand 602.

The total number of tests was recorded as 8 million 855 thousand 180, the number of cases as 296 thousand 391, and the number of deaths as 7 thousand 249.

The number of active patients was 26 thousand 540, the number of severe patients was 1351, and the pneumonia rate in patients was 7.1 percent.
