According to the statement made by the Ministry of Industry and Technology, Minister Mustafa Varank attended the “Standardization Summit” organized in cooperation with the Turkish Standards Institute (TSE) and the Union of Chambers and Commodity Exchanges of Turkey (TOBB).
In his speech here, Varank gave information about the work of the national technical (mirror) committees established within TSE. Inviting industrialists, academicians and all relevant parties to participate in the work of the mirror committees established within TSE, Varank stated that those who are personally involved in the production process and turn the wheels should be guiding and make their voices heard in determining the standards.
Varank underlined that a cooperation protocol was signed between TSE and TOBB. Emphasizing that industrialists and tradesmen have taken an important step for the active participation of industrialists and traders in international standardization activities with the protocol, Varank said, “Producers need to take responsibility regarding the standards. In determining the standards, it is not the experts who sit at the desk and do not know the sector, but the producers who are personally involved in the production process and who turn the wheels.” “They should be and their voices should be heard.” made his assessment.
Educational Program
Following the cooperation protocol, TSE and TOBB created a database to provide human resources to the mirror committees operating within the institute. In the statements made by the two institutions, the efforts regarding the cooperation to establish the teams referred to as the “National Standards Team” were conveyed.
According to the statements made by TOBB President Rifat Hisarcıklıoğlu and TSE President Adem Şahin, TSE and TOBB will work together to raise awareness about standardization. A training program will be implemented in order to create sufficient human resources for standardization in enterprises. The main goal here was determined to be sending representatives to international technical committees.
Those who want to participate in the training program created to provide human resources in the field of standardization must first register to the standardization database prepared by TSE and TOBB and accessible at “http://std.tobb.org.tr”.
After the training is completed, mirror committee meetings will be held with the participants of the program.
