Karaismailoğlu, who visited the Turkish Wagon Industry Joint Stock Company (TÜVASAŞ) in Sakarya’s Adapazarı district, received information about the work from General Manager İlhan Kocaarslan.
Later, Karaismailoğlu toured the factory and examined the national electric train set, the design of which was completed.
Minister Karaismailoğlu, in his statement to journalists, said that the design and production process of Turkey’s first domestic and national electric train set has been completed and it will start to serve on the rails at the end of the year.
Stating that the train will be put on the rails and its tests will begin as soon as possible, Karaismailoğlu said:
“We will put it into operation and start carrying passengers this year. Within the scope of the project, we first established the infrastructure. The aluminum body production, painting and sandblasting tests of our train were commissioned in 2019.
The design speed of the first train set produced was planned to be 176 kilometers per hour and the operating speed was planned to be 160 kilometers per hour. We are also working on a local high-speed train that can reach an operating speed of 225 kilometers per hour. “Our young friends in R&D focused on this intensively after finishing this train.”
“The national train served as the locomotive in the development of the domestic industry”
Karaismailoğlu emphasized that the national train acts as a locomotive in the development of the domestic industry and stated that they prioritize passenger safety and comfort on the train.
Stating that the seat capacity of a set consisting of five vehicles is 324, Karaismailoğlu said, “We reserved two of these for our disabled passengers. There will also be special sections in our train for our disabled citizens. We used ergonomic passenger seats in the sets we produced. We use our train with control and monitoring features that ensure safety, automatic stopping, fully automatic “We equipped it with air conditioning, fire alarm, audio and visual passenger information and camera systems. Despite all these features, our prototype set was 20 percent more economical than similar ones. We continue to work to reduce costs.” he said.
Karaismailoğlu stated that they worked day and night during the new type of coronavirus (Covid-19) process in order to avoid any disruption in the project schedules, and that all precautions and safety were taken, and that they continued to work at all construction sites and factories, prioritizing the health and safety of employees in line with the recommendations of the Ministry of Health Scientific Board. told.
Emphasizing that they have taken very important steps for the formation of the national industry in railways in the last 18 years under the leadership of President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan, Karaismailoğlu continued as follows:

After completing the factory and road tests, our national electric train set will be put into service for our citizens under the leadership of our President. Minister Karaismailoğlu stated that they will visit TÜVASAŞ again on June 29 and said, “Hopefully, we will start factory tests with all our friends. Then, hopefully, next year, We will put it into operation before it is finished and start carrying passengers. We will experience this pride together with all our friends. We are on the eve of very good days. After our 160-kilometer train is finished, hopefully our friends are working with great devotion for our 225-kilometer high-speed train sets.
