Minister Pakdemirli: We provide feed support of 65 lira per animal to our breeders

Minister of Agriculture and Forestry Bekir Pakdemirli attended the promotion of the Farmer Distance Education Platform held at the ministry and made a speech.

Pakdemirli said that, as the Ministry, they declared this year the year of digitalization, and that the Covid-19 epidemic revealed the necessity of investments in this direction. Pakdemirli stated that they started an education campaign to make information and technology available to farmers and to transfer the agricultural experiences of the ministry.

Pakdemirli said that President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan told the farmers at the cabinet meeting held yesterday, “Our farmers should not leave even an inch of land uncultivated. Let them sow or reap, we are behind them, we are with them.” Stating that he conveyed his message, he said, “Please share this message with your spouse, your friend, your village, your town and all your loved ones.” he said.

Reminding that President Erdoğan also gave good news about the purchase prices, Pakdemirli reminded that TMO increased the purchase price of hard bread wheat from 1350 lira to 1650 lira per ton, and the purchase price of barley from 1100 lira to 1275 lira per ton.

Pakdemirli also stated that they paid premium and support payments of 230 lira per ton of grain to farmers and said, “We determined the purchase prices of pulses per ton as 3 thousand 500 lira for red lentils, 3 thousand 200 lira for green lentils and 3 thousand 350 lira for chickpeas. Premium and support for pulses.” “The payment is 800 lira per ton. I want you to be sure that we, as the government and the Ministry, are with you with all our means, and we will continue to be with you.” he said.

“We do not have any problems with basic food items”

Pakdemirli pointed out that Turkey has sufficient food stocks during the pandemic period and there is nothing to worry about, and said, “There is no problem in our country regarding access to food, thanks to our strong logistics infrastructure. For this reason, our country’s grain, legumes, meat stocks, milk supply, fish “We have no problems with the production and supply of basic food items, including vegetables and fruits. Thank God, our warehouses are full.” said.

Pakdemirli stated that all regional, provincial and district organizations affiliated to the Ministry were contacted and instructions were given to ensure that the agricultural calendar was not disrupted, to take all kinds of measures, to cooperate with other public institutions and organizations and to ensure a constant flow of information, and continued his words as follows:

“We provided access to businesses for our farmers and agricultural workers to ensure that activities such as sowing, planting, irrigation and maintenance, which are required for crop production activities, continue uninterrupted. In order to avoid any problems in access or distribution of agricultural inputs such as fertilizer, seeds and medicine, we also provide effective support, especially fertilizer dealers. “We continue our stock controls and inspections.”

“Seed support will be expanded”

Stating that they provided 21 to 75 percent subsidized seed support within the scope of the Crop Production Development Project, Pakdemirli said that they will expand this project further next year.

Pakdemirli emphasized that they do not want the producers to withdraw from their fields and businesses due to the epidemic and said, “Let me give you another good news while we are together with you. We are engaged in important studies and targets in the field of animal husbandry. In this context, we will provide feed support of 100 million liras in total to our breeders, 65 liras per animal. “We will catch up with you in this situation, be of good cheer. Don’t worry about manipulations and disaster scenarios. Mind your business. As long as you work in a programmed manner, as long as you produce in a planned manner.” he said.

“I will give the first lesson”

Pakdemirli also shared the following information about the Distance Education System:

“Our farmers will be able to watch the live broadcast lessons programmed on webtarımTV, our ministry’s internet broadcasting television, taking into account the appropriate hours. If necessary, questions and requests can be sent to the live broadcast lessons. These lessons will be repeated throughout the day. You will be able to access our training and information videos on agriculture and forest issues. Our experts You will be able to attend the trainings organized from your home and ask your questions. Today, we are opening the Digital Agriculture Library as a part and complement of the Distance Education System. When you examine here, you will see that thousands of written and visual resources are waiting for you. In this way, while you, our valued farmers, are tired, we are opening the Digital Agriculture Library. “You will be able to benefit from our Distance Education System while drinking, in your free time, that is, 24 hours a day, 365 days a week, and you will be able to enter our library and access books, magazines and articles.”

Stating that live broadcast and training programs have been prepared to start at 11.00 tomorrow, Pakdemirli said, “You will be able to easily access the training and information via academy.tarimorman.gov.tr. Let’s meet tomorrow at 11.00. I will give the first lesson.” he said.

After his speech, Pakdemirli met with producers in various provinces, representing 81 cities, via video conference, listened to their demands and chatted.
