Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank answered questions and made evaluations on the agenda at the AA Editorial Desk meeting.
Minister of Industry and Technology Varank said, “The rate of our citizens supporting Turkey’s Automobile is 97.6 percent, the rate of those who want to buy is 89 percent.” Minister Varank said, “The first target for the factory is to break ground and start construction in Gemlik in the first half of 2020.”
“Pre-ordering has not started yet”
Stating that work is underway for a brand that is compatible with the designs and can be registered for Turkey’s Automobile, and that this process will be completed within the year, Varank continued as follows:
“The practice of pre-ordering by paying money in advance has not started yet. This will be the method that the company will apply after the brand launch. After the launch of our Informatics Valley, applications were received from 32 companies in various fields. We want to develop smart mobility technologies here. Stating that they applied the purchase guarantee only for TOGG, Varank said, “We did not guarantee any other company for 30 thousand vehicles until 2035.”

Varank said, “In 2019, we issued incentive certificates for 5 thousand 691 projects worth 137 billion liras. When these are completed, we expect over 210 thousand new jobs.”
“We will support 127 researchers”
Minister of Industry and Technology Varank said, “We will support 127 researchers, 98 of whom are Turkish and 29 of whom are foreign nationals, selected among 242 applicants to the Leading Researchers Program.”
