A new Navtex (Notice to Sailors) has been announced for the area where Oruç Reis will carry out seismic work, which will continue until August 23.
Accordingly, Oruç Reis, together with the ships named Ataman and Cengiz Han, will carry out seismic studies in the previously announced region off the coast of Cyprus in the Eastern Mediterranean.
Oruç Reis seismic research vessel can carry out all kinds of geological, geophysical, hydrographic and oceanographic research, especially continental shelf and natural resource exploration.
The ship, which is one of the rare research ships in the world that is fully equipped and multi-purpose, can carry out 2D and 3D seismic, gravity and magnetic geophysical research. The ship can perform 3-dimensional seismic operations up to a depth of 8 thousand meters and two-dimensional seismic operations up to a depth of 15 thousand meters.
