The General Assembly of the Grand National Assembly of Turkey will complete its recess on July 28 and start working for the 4th Legislative Year of the 27th Term next week.
While repair and renovation works are being carried out in some parts of the Parliament before the new legislative year, the works started in the General Assembly hall are about to be completed. In this context, all the seats in the parliamentary and press boxes at the General Assembly were dismantled and repaired.
Putty was applied for the wear, cracks and tears on the seat leather, and after sanding, the repair was completed by painting it in its original color. Additionally, 200 broken seat shock absorbers were renewed.
During the summer, scaffolding was installed in all of the military, official and Presidential lodges, spectator, press and diplomatic corps lodges to paint the ceilings and walls. The original acoustic plaster material used in the renovation in 1998 was reapplied to all of the walls and ceilings in the areas in question. Thus, the surfaces that had become worn and dirty over the years were renewed without deteriorating the acoustics of the hall.
Removable mechanism to the podium
The area used as a warehouse behind the stage was used as a system room. The electrical and mechanical systems here have been renewed.
All electrical panels under the General Assembly have been renewed. In this context, the necessary infrastructure works for the cabling works for the electronic systems to be renewed and the new technologies to be added in the second phase will be completed by October 1.
In addition, the orator chair at the General Assembly will have a rising and falling mechanism in its current location in order to ensure its accessibility for disabled people in the new period.
