Prime Minister Binali Yıldırım will visit the United States on November 7-10 and meet with US Vice President Mike Pence.
According to information received from Prime Ministry sources, Yıldırım will hold some meetings in Washington and New York on November 7-10. The visit will be the first visit from Turkey to the US at the prime ministerial level after the new administration took office in the US.
During the visit, Prime Minister Yıldırım will be accompanied by Deputy Prime Minister Mehmet Şimşek, Foreign Minister Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu and Minister of Energy and Natural Resources Berat Albayrak.
In addition to his meeting with US Vice President Mike Pence, Yıldırım is expected to meet with opinion leaders, representatives of Turkish and related communities, Muslim and Jewish communities, members of the media, investors and businessmen in Washington and New York.
During the meetings with Vice President Pence, it is planned to exchange views on bilateral political, economic and military relations, regional issues including Syria and Iraq, as well as the fight against terrorism, especially FETÖ, DAESH, PYD/YPG, the issue of refugees and the solution of the visa problem.
The talks are expected to contribute to the continuation of joint efforts to resolve differences of opinion with the US on some issues and to advance cooperation.
Prime Minister Yıldırım’s visit will also be an important opportunity to emphasize the key messages of Turkey’s foreign policy, Turkey’s role in the region and the world, and its economic and trade potential.
