President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan had a telephone conversation with the President of the European Union (EU) Council, Charles Michel.
According to the statement made by the Directorate of Communications, President Erdoğan and EU Council President Michel discussed Turkey-EU relations and regional developments, especially the Eastern Mediterranean.
During the meeting, President Erdogan reiterated his call for EU institutions and member states to “take an objective and consistent stance on all regional issues, especially the Eastern Mediterranean, without being deceived by provocations.”
Emphasizing that Turkey is open to a solution in which the rights of all parties are protected through a sincere dialogue and negotiation based on equity, President Erdoğan stated that they will continue to protect all of Turkey’s rights and interests always and everywhere, against attempts to ignore them and unilateral steps.
