Turkish President Recep Tayyip Erdoğan welcomed Ukrainian President Vladimir Zelenskiy with an official ceremony.
Erdoğan welcomed Zelenskiy at the main entrance of the Presidential Complex. After the two leaders took their places in the ceremony area, the national anthems of the two countries were played accompanied by 21 cannon fire.
Ukrainian President Zelenskiy greeted the Guard Regiment Ceremonial Guard by saying “Hello soldier” in Turkish. Flags and soldiers representing the 16 Turkish states established in history were also present at the ceremony.
After the introduction of the delegations of the two countries, Erdogan and Zelenskiy posed for journalists in front of the Turkish and Ukrainian flags on the stairs.
After the one-on-one and inter-delegation meetings, Erdoğan and Zelenskiy will hold a joint press conference.
President Erdoğan will host an official dinner in honor of Zelenskiy.
At the ceremony, Vice President Fuat Oktay, Minister of Foreign Affairs Mevlüt Çavuşoğlu, Minister of Treasury and Finance Berat Albayrak, Minister of National Defense Hulusi Akar, Minister of Industry and Technology Mustafa Varank, Minister of Commerce Ruhsar Pekcan, Deputy Minister of Culture and Tourism Serdar Çam, Director of Communications Fahrettin Altun, Presidential Spokesperson İbrahim Kalın, Defense Industry President İsmail Demir, Ankara Governor Vasip Şahin and Metropolitan Municipality Mayor Mansur Yavaş were also present.
The leader of the Crimean Tatars, Mustafa Cemil Kırımoğlu, was also present in the Ukrainian delegation.
