The scope of additional customs duty on imports, which came to the fore with game consoles over the weekend, has been expanded. With two separate import regime decisions in the Official Gazette, additional customs duties were introduced for more than 3 thousand products.
Additional customs duties were imposed on nearly 2 thousand products in the textile, apparel, leather shoes and similar categories. In this category, additional customs duties will be applied to products between chapters 30 and 67 at rates ranging from 8 percent to 50 percent.
Additional customs duties ranging from 5.5 percent to 40 percent were imposed on approximately 1,200 industrial products included in the 32nd and 97th chapters.
Additional customs duty is not applied for some country groups, the countries that are not applied are:
EU Member States, EFTA Member States, Israel, Republic of North Macedonia, Bosnia and Herzegovina, Morocco, Palestine, Tunisia, Egypt, Georgia, Albania, Chile, Serbia, Montenegro, Kosovo, Mauritius, Moldova, Faroe Islands, South Korea, Malaysia and Singapore.
