Reaching the 2023 Goals is Not a Dream

LASİAD (Association of Anatolian Business Lions) attended the meeting titled “Export Incentive Supports and Future Vision,” organized by ASKON, where Veysel Parlak, the Director General of Export at the Ministry of Economy, shared important information.

LASİAD President Giyasettin Eyyüpkoca and Secretary General Şerafettin Yüzüak attended the meeting held at the ASKON Headquarters. Providing detailed information about export incentive supports, Veysel Parlak, the Director General of Export at the Ministry of Economy, mentioned the significant contribution of suitcase trade in Laleli, amounting to 8-9 billion dollars. Parlak also emphasized that having a dynamic president like Giyasettin Eyyüpkoca and an association like LASİAD is a great advantage. President Eyyüpkoca stated that he would visit Veysel Parlak in his office in the coming days, following special contacts before and after the meeting.

Parlak, providing information about the current supports of the Ministry of Economy, stated that companies should benefit from export preparation supports, marketing supports, and supports aimed at high added value. He expressed that Turkey has reached a level where it can export machinery to Germany. Parlak said, “We aim for our 2023 export strategy to be 500 billion dollars. To achieve Turkey’s 2023 export strategy, we have planned 19 strategic goals and 76 strategic actions. Achieving the 2023 goals is not a dream with these plans. It is a duty for all of us to reach this goal. If our vision progresses in line with this goal, we will achieve it.”

Responding to a question from business people about the need to increase contacts in Russia, Parlak said, “We want to make a preferential trade agreement with Russia, similar to the one we made with Iran. Our contacts with Russia continue. We closely monitor the export of agricultural products to Russia. Unfortunately, there is a cumbersome structure in Russia, so they are progressing slowly. We are doing our best to eliminate this sluggishness. We believe that our commercial agreements with Russia will come into effect soon.” At the end of the meeting, Veysel Parlak, the Director General of Export at the Ministry of Economy, was presented with the book “Elif” as a souvenir of the day by ASKON President Mustafa Koca.
