Ready-to-wear exporters to meet 200 thousand buyers at virtual fair

With the support of the Istanbul Ready-to-Wear and Apparel Exporters’ Association (İHKİB), 17 ready-to-wear companies in the Joor Platform, which provides wholesale opportunities for brands and retailers, will meet with approximately 200 thousand buyers at the virtual fair.

The cooperation initiated by Istanbul Ready-to-Wear and Apparel Exporters’ Association (İHKİB) and Joor Platform last year has moved to a new stage. With the support of İHKİB, 17 ready-to-wear companies in the Joor Platform will go global with a virtual fair.

Mustafa Gültepe, President of İHKİB, emphasized that virtual events have gained much more importance as travel is restricted and physical organizations cannot be held with the pandemic.

Gültepe stated that İHKİB, which is an example and inspiration for other sectors with its digitalization projects, has been working intensively to promote the Turkish fashion industry with virtual events during the pandemic period: “Last year, we held Istanbul Fashion Week, which ranks in the top 10 among more than 130 fashion organizations in the world, entirely on digital platforms. Thanks to our collaboration with Joor, we introduced the collections of our brands participating in the Fashion Week to a global audience with a very low budget. We have expanded the cooperation so that other companies that can make collections can also benefit. We offered the opportunity to take part in the Joor Platform to companies with at least two original collections a year as well as international fair experience. In the first phase, we supported each of our 17 companies whose applications were accepted with 50 percent of their membership fees.”

Promotion to a global audience with low budgets

Gültepe stated that Joor, which brings together 8,600 brands and 200 thousand retailers from 144 countries, offers companies the opportunity to introduce their collections to a global audience with a very low budget. Gültepe stated that 17 companies in Joor with the support of İHKİB aim to reach 200 thousand buyers from Europe, the Far East and the Middle East, especially the USA, in the virtual fair that will start tomorrow, and said, “The virtual fair, which we will organize with the participation of our companies in Joor, will continue actively on the Joor Passport page for a month.”
