Recovery in consumer confidence continues

After the COVID-19 outbreak, the normalization steps that started in May and continue rapidly are continuing to be reflected in the data. Seasonally adjusted consumer confidence index, calculated from the results of the consumer trend survey conducted in cooperation with the Turkish Statistical Institute and the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey, increased by 5.2 percent in June compared to the previous month; The index, which was 59.5 in May, became 62.6 in June.

In the consumer confidence index, the level of 62.6 was recorded as the highest level since April 2019.

There was an increase in all sub-items in the index

The financial situation expectation index of the household increased by 0.8 percent in the said period, reaching 79.9.

General economic situation expectation also increased by 4.5 percent on a monthly basis, reaching 85.5.

The number of unemployed expectation index increased by 12.2 percent this month compared to last month, reaching 62.1.

The probability of saving index increased by 6.5 percent to 23.1.
